Meet the Chaplains

Brent Bettmann

Brent is a native of Nebraska and a graduate of Colorado Christian University. He has served in full time pastoral ministry for 12 years and is currently on staff at Colorado Christian University in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is married to Amy and they have one daughter, Hannah. Brent's love of racing began over twenty years ago when he attended the Indy 500. He has since been to several NASCAR races but prefers the Saturday night short track racing at CNS.

Mike Sundin

Age 39. Resides in Aurora, CO. Not a native to Colorado but making sure his children will be.

Married for 12 years to the girl he met on a blind date. Went to first NASCAR race with said wife at the Brickyard in 2004. His driver beat her driver :-)

Father of two boys. Oldest is 8 and likes whatever driver that is leading or the car that is red. Youngest is 5 and likes to tell dad and mom how to drive. When they are getting passed he says to speed up. Reminds the wife of the movie "Driving Miss Daisy".

Owner of two pug dogs. Wanted to name the oldest dog "Bristol" and the youngest "Anything But Busch" but was out-voted by the wife and kids. Currently works for UPS and is waiting to race the brown truck. Previously was a Youth Pastor for 11 years in Colorado and Idaho.

Tries to live by the truth found in II Timothy 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself as a workman who needs not to be ashamed. Accurately handling the Word of Truth." He knows he falls short but, above all else, he believes in God's Grace, Love and Truth and likes to tell others what God has and continues to do in his life.

Best thing about being the chaplain at CNS: Meeting the drivers and teams; watching great racing and being available to whatever God has in mind for him. Thanks for your hospitality and for your allowing me to come into your world.

Keep the rubber side down and see you short track saturday night!

Brian Rodgers

He has worked in various forms of ministry in his home church since high school and currently teaches an adult Sunday School class at Columbine Hills Church of the Nazarene and serves on the church board. He is also active with his son's Boy Scout troop. His whole family are avid NASCAR fans and regularly watch the races and attend races at CNS many times during the summer season.
